Best Band, Best Live Nominations, NME

U2 are up against The Strokes, White Stripes, Radiohead and The Charlatans in the NME CARLING AWARD nominations announced today.

The Elevation 2001 Tour has also won U2 a nomination for Best Live Act - vying with Ash, Linkin Park, Muse and Radiohead.

U2 are also nominated for Best Video for Elevation.

In other nominations, Best Solo Artist will be battled out between Ryan Adams, Ian Brown, PJ Harvey, Kylie Minogue and Andrew WK while Best Album pits The Charlatans' 'Wonderland' with Muse's 'Origins Of Symmetry', Radiohead's 'Amnesiac', Slipknot's 'Iowa' and The Strokes' 'Is This It'..
